Capitalism: A Love Story - Documentary By Michael Moore

Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad and Alliance Francaise Of Hyderabad, in association with the Documentary Circle Of Hyderabad, are screening Capitalism: A Love Story, a documentary by Michael Moore, on March 26th, at the Goethe Zentrum office. This is being presented as part of 'Point Of View', a monthly groupthink series organized by Goethe Zentrum.



Popular documentary film-maker Michael Moore comes up trumps once again with this film.



Tracing the history of Capitalism to the Roman civilization, and linking it to the modern day economic crisis of 2008, Michael Moore will shock you with facts that you may not even dream about. The film has the potential to convert a die-hard free-market supporter to the other side.



In this film, Moore doesn't blatantly support democrats like he did in Fahrenheit: 9/11. However, the film is very discreetly layered with the anti-republican and pro-Obama subtext. Despite that, the film still serves as an eye-opener.



Michael Francis Moore was born on April 23rd, 1954, in Davison, Michigan. He attended St. John's Elementary School (a Catholic primary school), and Davison High School. After dropping out of the University of Michigan, he founded an alternative weekly newspaper, The Flint Voice, which eventually evolved into The Michigan Voice, a newspaper that covered the whole state.



In 1986, Moore was hired as the editor of Mother Jones, the liberal political magazine, but his employment was short-lived. One scandal and a lot of controversies shrouded his departure from the magazine. He went to work for Ralph Nader, and sued Mother Jones for wrongful termination and demanded 2,000,000 dollars as compensation. He got a settlement of 58,000 dollars from Mother Jones Moore and used it to financ his first film, Roger & Me.
