On the occasion of the All India Crafts Mela, Shilparamam is presenting a Bharatanatyam recital by the disciples of Josyula Ramachandra Murthy and students of Sri Nritya Kalanjali on 29th December. 5 students - Josyula Lasya, Vaishnavi, Himaja, Priyanka and Gayathri - will start with a Ganapathi Prarthana, followed by Ananda Tandavam, Padayya Mangalam, Nagumomu Galavani, Jatiswaram, Adigo Alladigo, Krishna Shabdam, Srungara Lahari and Lambadi folk Volalammo.
The orchestra for the recital is by Josyula Ramachandra Rao on the nattuvangam and vocal, Anjaneya Sastry on the mridangam, Suryanarayana Murthy on the harmonium and Srinivas Balaji on the violin.
Josyula Ramachandra Murthy is a disciple of Rukmini Arundale and obtained a Post Graduate in Bharatanatyam from Adiyar Kalakshetra, Chennai. He has trained Tollywood actress Laya for 7 years under him. He was awarded the Best Dancer award by the Madras Telugu Social and Cultural Academy.
Ramachandra Murthy trains about 70 students at his institute Sri Nritya Kalanjali, Vijayawada, which started in 1984. He, along with his students, has performed at Mantralayam, Tirupati, New Delhi and Bangalore.
