Nritya Darpana is presenting a Kuchipudi rangaprevasam by Kovvali Tanmayi, on 16th October, at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium.
The program starts with Sreegananaadam in Revagupti raagam, followed by Krishna shabdam in Mohana raagam, Natyahela in Ragamalika, Dashavataramulu in Mohana, Marakata Keertana in Arabhi, and finally, Lalitambika Stavam in Mishra Shivaranjani raagam.
Tanmayi, a 6th standard student of Brilliant Grammar High School, is a disciple of Mudapaka Venkateswara Rao, popularly known as Dr. Ardhanareeswaram Venkat.
Tanmayi started learning Kuchipudi from a very young age of 4 years, initially from Guru Indira. Her parents, K Shyam Sunder and K Mallika, then placed her under Dr. Venkat.
Nritya Darpana was founded by Dr. Venkat, a Kuchipudi performer, choreographer, dance-researcher and author of several books on dance. He is the Global World Record holder and Wonder Record Holders Appreciation Award recipient for the longest performance of Ardhanareeswaram ballet. He received several awards, including Sidhendrayogi Award from the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, the Golden Award from Telugu Sangham of Malaysia, and Simhatalatam & Kanakabhishekam.
