Mexican Film Festival - The Daughter Of Deceit

When your husband is kicking you out of the house because you've cheated on him, there's not much you can do to make things worse. Except tell him that your daughter isn't his.



The Hyderabad Film Club, in association with the Mexican Embassy in New Delhi and the Federation of Film Societies of India, is organising a Mexican Film Festival, from 16th to 18th August, at Sarathi Studios.



A total of 5 films directed by Luis Bunuel will be screened during the 3-day film festival.



The Daughter Of Deceit (La Hija Del Engano) is the second film that will be screened on the first day, at 7:30pm. The film casts Alicia Caro as Martha, Fernando "Mantequilla" Soto as Angelito, Ruben Rojo as Paco, and Fernando Soler as Quintin Guzman.



When he discovers his wife Maria's infidelity, Quintin kicks her out of the house. While she's leaving, she screams at him that their daughter is the result of her adultery, and that she is not really his. Embittered, Quintin abandons the girl with Lencho and his wife Tona.



Many years later, Maria convinces Quintin hat she lied about his paternity, and tells him that he must go back to look for his daughter. He discovers that she's happily married and pregnant.
