Shruti Haasan (With The Extramentals) Live At Hard Rock Cafe

Catch the gorgeous Shruti Haasan (daughter of the legendary Kamal Haasan) perform with her band the Extramentals live at the Hard Rock Cafe, this Thursday night, the 10th of June. The members of the band are Shruti Haasan with the vocals, Krishnan on the bass, Jeremiah on the drums, and Siddharth on the guitars.



Shruti was trained in Hindustani classical music for 4 years with 2 well-known artists - Indian classical musician & playback singer Suresh Wadkar in Mumbai; and later, with tabla player & musician Pandit Manohar Kulkarni in Chennai.



Later, she enrolled in the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, a musical-learning experience which she describes as one of her favourites. She trained there for 2 years in various genres that include jazz and country music. She also developed a western style of singing and song-writing.



Apart from her performances in the world of films, and with her band The Extramentals, Shruti has also collaborated with a number of musicians from Los Angeles, USA. She has performed with and trained under Carol Rogers' "Mama O", who toured with Brazilian musician Sergio Mendes. She has also performed with British Tamil musician Susheela Raman.
