Watch a bunch of adventurers go through tough Himalayan rainforests whose basic purpose is to stop the Chinese from getting in - by motorbikes.
Creaking Projectors, in association with Tuborg, is screening One Crazy Ride, an English documentary based on five dare-devil riders. The film is being screened on 23rd May, at Syn in Taj Deccan. The documentary has been directed by Gaurav Jani and produced by Dirt Track Productions.
This 87-minute documentary tracks a motorcycle expedition by 5 drivers - Nicolitta Pereira, Vinod Panicker, Sanjeev Sharma, Gursaurabh Singh Toor, and Gaurav Jani - on uncharted roads in the Himalayas in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. It is stated to be a film about camaraderie, friendship and the ?never say die? attitude of the 5 motorcyclists in unforgiving terrain, and also attempts to capture the experiences and interactions of riders trying to chart a route.
The state of Arunachal Pradesh is still a rainforest for the most part. It has been left so by the government as it provides a natural barrier against possible Chinese invasion. To traverse some regions, you may even have to go through Assam.
The 5 riders in the documentary carry out this crazy idea to cut across the rainforest - a terrain that has never been traversed before, and not even been drawn on a map - on bikes. They cut across swamps and landslides, and the terrain just gets uglier by the mile. The riders come across and live with people whom the world doesn't even know exist.
Entry tickets are priced at Rs. 100 per head. Please contact 6666-3939 for further details.
