Kalasagaram's 42nd Annual Festival of Music, Dance & Drama is on at Keyes High School, from 28th November to 6th December.
The charismatic Malladi Brothers will perform a Carnatic vocal duet on 3rd December, the 6th day. They will be supported by M A Sundereswaran on the violin, K V Prasad on the mridangam and Trichy K Murali on the ghatam.
The Malladi Brothers, Sriram Prasad and Ravi Kumar, hail from a family of musicians. Their father, Malladi Suri Babu, is a distinguished vocalist and staff artiste of AIR, Vijayawada. The brothers had their initial training from their father, and thereafter fine-tuned their skills from Sangeeta Kalanidhi Dr. Nedunuri Krishnamoorthy and Sangeeta Kalanidhi Dr. Sripada Pinakapani.
The brothers have established themselves as one of the leading pairs of vocal musicians, and are indeed a pride for Andhra Pradesh. They have given performances in various towns across the country and the world.
Both brothers bagged National Awards from All India Radio from 1989 to 1994 in classical, light classical and light music categories. They also received the best concert award from Madras Music Academy in 1998, and the Sri Rangam Gopalarathnam Memorial Award from the Academy in 1999.

Kalasagaram is a south-Indian cultural association situated in the East Nehru Nagar of East Marredpally, and has been organising Carnatic music concerts for more than 35 years now. The concerts are usually held in the Keyes High School campus in the open-air theatre. The singers are generally from outside Hyderabad, usually amateurs and upcoming artistes, and quite competent. Kalasagaram also occasionally stages south-Indian classical dances and Tamil plays.
