Your wardrobe is incomplete without an exquisite handloom silk saree or a chic cotton salwar kameez, rich in design and pattern. And to grab a piece from one the most reputed names, rush to the Lepakshi cotton and fabric handloom exhibition/sale, at Sri Satya Sai Nigamagamam, from 3rd July to 9th July. The timings are 11am to 9pm. Amala Akkineni will be the chief guest on 3rd July, the day of the inauguration, at 4pm.
The exhibition displays exclusively cotton and silk dress material and sarees - many of them, unique and handmade, and in the latest designs and patterns, which are a visual treat. Designers from various parts of the country are displaying their best handmade works, and fabrics suitable for college wear, office wear and party wear are available here.
The saree collection consists of Bengali silk, Tussar silk, Bhagalpur silk, Banaras and Chanderi silk, and the dress material includes Bandhani silk, Mangalgiri cotton, Kalamkari prints, fancy work and Kashmiri silk. Interestingly, the designers themselves, from Jharkhand, Orissa, Kanchi and Banaras, have come to display their works.
The prices offered are reasonable, and range from Rs. 250 to Rs. 10,000 - some special discounts are also being offered.
