As part of its weekly program of dance, Shilparamam is presenting a Kuchipudi dance recital by Pasumarthi Sai Deepika, B Sai Lavanya, S Sai Divya, T Lakshmi Bhargavi, Vaibhavi Sane, Nikhila, Harika and Suhasini, all disciples of Pasumarthi Seshubabu, on 27th April. The nine dancers will be presenting nine items, as under:

The orchestra for the recital is by Sangeeta Natyacharya Guru Pasumarthi Seshubabu with the vocals and nattuvangam, Pasumarthi Chandrabala with vocal support, V Sridharacharya on the mridangam and K Anil Kumar on the violin.
Pasumarthi Seshubabu was born in the Kuchipudi village in the dance family of Pasumarthis, and had his training in Kuchipudi under Pasumarthi Venugopala Krishna Sarma and in vocal under Kampella Suryanarayana. He gave various performances all over the country during his teen days, and is known for his portrayals of Prahlad in Bhakta Prahlada Yakshaganam, Lava in Lava Kusa Charitam, Bringeeswara in Girija Kalyanam, and Satyabhama and Sutradhari in Bhama Kalapam.
Seshubabu has received innumerable awards, such as Ugadi Puraskaram and Uttama Sangeeta Natyacharya from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Natya Ratna by Golden Star and Natya Shikhamani by Sadguru Sringeri Math. Currently, he trains students at his dance institute Kuchipudi Nritya Bharathi, which was started in 1985. Kuchipudi, vocal, veena and violin are being taught here. His wife Raja Rajeshwari is a veena player, and of his daughters, Sai Deepika is a dancer and vocalist, Chandrabala is a vocalist and Phanibala is a violinist.
