Jus' happened to read the reviews of Rain and Political Rowdy over at FH!
Must say that the reviewer is either a Ghyphted Jeenious™ or an absolute dimwit who jus' pens down inanely hillarious reviews.......
Sample this from the Good Boy Review:

There is nothing really ridiculous about this movie, nothing that really really sticks out like a sore thumb, except the fact that you’ve gone to the theater to watch it. Otherwise, the movie just jumps from one mediocrity to another. It follows the soporific golden mean of dumbness, the kind you can take a snooze through and leave refreshed. It’s only if you deliberately choose to keep your senses on the alert throughout that you will feel the urge to rant.

The reviewers are certainly one of the two you mentioned they might be, but since they follow these forums, we cannot say which one it is and still hope to have them work with us. But we're hoping that there's a cure.

Some reviews drive me crazy! As YCR said, if it is just for fun then ok. Because the reviews show the lack of knowledge (movies). Those are mega dumb reviews for a serious movie fan like me

yes, i second that ^^^^. funny reviews are..fun...only upto a point. and the best reviewers do not let their personal biases (like i hate action films or i hate SRK, for example) reflect in the reviews.

take it easy. movie reviews are not like cricket match reviews where such stuff can be written - right way to bat, bowl or field. Movies belong to the creative genre and the reviewer can just like or dislike what he/she sees on the screen. its all abt personal taste and need not be explained.



also, its impossible to write a review that can be appreciated by all the readers bcos of difference in likes and dislikes.



so, i back the reviewer in the way she writes - just blast a movie one doesnt like, praise a movie that one loves.



after all , there just can't be a right way to review - its just in the minds of the readers.



we, as readers, can just ask the reviewer to make the reviews more funny, serious or moderate - even then its not possible for her to do it.

well, a review is not for a 'person' to tell all & sundry what he or she feels about the film! if taht were the case, all of us would be able to do it! a review should be aimed at imparting the gist of the film to the readers who can make a decision to see it or not! and puhleeze spare us the hi-fi jargon and oxford-style lingo & fundoo 'gyaan'



The KISS philosophy should be followed here. Tell in as few words as possible whether the film is Good/watchable/excellent/ok/avoidable/extremelybad/su*ks! and also the 'key' portions of the movie such as an excellently filmed fight scene or an aesthetically picturised song, should be highlighted to add an impetus.



read some of the reviews of acclaimed critics like Ziya us Salaam or Mini Anthikad-Chibber and se ehow they are able to encompass a 2-3 hr movie into select words and jus' by reading them one can decide (hopefully!) whether to see it or skip it!

Cut her some slack. Movies which do not have a good script do not need a review. There is nothing to review and most movies progress without a story. Those which didnt, got a real good review. Infact, IMO, Priyanka pulla is a bit liberal when compared to other reviewers on Fullhyd. She doesnt bash em enough.
